Also, the SAT may have a high overall validity b/c it does predict college grades, HOWEVER, it has specific validity problem – it predicts women will have lower grades in college math courses than they actually receive. The point here is that stereotype threat is part of, but not the main feature of these gender discrepancies... the true issues may lie with the validity of the instruments used to measure ability.
