What is In-Mind?
In-Mind is a volunteer-driven non-profit project dedicated to sharing psychological research. We present psychological research in an engaging, accessible, and scientifically rigorous way – psychology for all.
Our journal publishes freely available articles across all areas of psychology. Visit us at: https://in-mind.org/
Who are we looking for?
We are seeking active researchers at all career stages with a passion for communicating psychological science who would like to volunteer as reviewers for our magazine. Our magazine publishes short, 1500–2000-word overview articles in English. While strong English skills are helpful, we welcome volunteers from around the globe!
We are recruiting reviewers with expertise in any psychological discipline, for example:
- Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy
- Health Psychology
- Developmental Psychology
- Educational Psychology
- Social Psychology
- General Psychology
- Neuropsychology
- Work Psychology
- Personality Psychology
Currently, we are looking for reviewers with a background in clinical psychology and psychotherapy for our upcoming special issue “Reality Check: What clinical science really tells us about promoting mental health”.
We are also looking for reviewers with expertise in science communication (psychologists and researchers from other research fields).
Your task
You will provide feedback on an article in your area of expertise that has been submitted to us. Each article is reviewed by two experts, one of whom will be you. Based on our experience, writing a review takes between one and three hours. The editor will use your feedback to decide whether to accept, reject, or ask for a resubmission of the article.
Examples for article topics are: How can access to prevention, mental health care, and psychotherapy be improved? What does clinical science actually say about “hot topics” in social media, such as chatbots, mindfulness, ADHD, and PTSD?
Your profile
- Active researcher in a psychological discipline.
- Holding or pursuing a PhD.
- Experience as a reviewer for scientific journals and/or experience with writing for a lay audience is desirable, but not mandatory.
Why work as a reviewer for In-Mind?
- You will contribute to the dissemination of scientific evidence in discourses on psychology and help a lay audience understand current findings from psychological research.
- After the article is accepted, you can decide whether your want to be acknowledged as a reviewer on the article page, documenting your interest and service for better psychological science communication. You can also stay anonymous as a reviewer.
- You can learn about current trends in your research field and how to communicate research findings to a wide readership.
Interested?
Fill in the form for volunteers, and we’ll start inviting you to review articles submitted to In-Mind.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
