Kevin Baum is a philosopher and computer scientist working on AI alignment, AI literacy, and AI safety. As a Senior Scientist at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI), he leads the Responsible AI and Machine Ethics (RAIME) research group and heads the Center for European Research on Trusted AI (CERTAIN). His research spans AI ethics and interdisciplinary trustworthy AI, focusing on topics such as the (non)sense of explainable AI, the challenges of effective human oversight, and the operationalization of responsible AI paradigms, particularly in the context of the EU AI Act.
